Fragments of the opening scene of Macbeth by William Shakespeare

It is a given that to write, you must read. As matter of fact, reading, and learning are a continuum; a minus-infinite. Reading takes you to places, it takes you to levels, physical, emotional, apart from filling your mind and soul with knowledge, and nurture your imagination. In the book INSTAR, there are a few of these examples, about writing as an homage, paying tribute to my mentors and Masters. These are and were people who saw potential I did not even knew existed. Selecting the poem: Olga and Montse reminds me

about that scene of Macbeth when the witches predicted the actions of that character. The poem is an allegory to that instance. This allegory is of course, opposite to the negativity

and darkness of Shakespeare’s play. The “witches” brought light. Once my eyes were open,

I reacted like Macbeth: “Tell me more!” Although I never said “teach me or show me how to write”, I just let myself to be open to their insights. Even without words, through the process, they raked my virgin soil. Olga doing it through the Humanities, Montse reinforcing it with Spanish Literature. They were positive of what I could achieve, they woke my imagination up, they guided me to write, like magic, without painstaking efforts; by the pricking of their thumbs.

Destino por Influencia? Escribir como Tributo

Para escribir, tenemos que leer. Es claro, es dado. De hecho, la lectura y el aprendizaje

son un contínuo, un menos-infinito. Leer te lleva a lugares, eleva tus niveles, física y emocionalmente, aparte de nutrir tu alma y tu mente con conocimiento y alimentar a la imaginación. En el libro INSTAR, existen varios ejemplos, homenaje a varias personas, Maestros en muchos sentidos, a los cuales rindo tributo. Ellos fueron y son personas que vieron en mí un potencial que ni yo mismo sabía que tenía. El seleccionar al poema Olga y Montse me recuerda a aquella escena de Macbeth en la que las brujas profetizan sobre las acciones del personaje. Olga y Montse, es una alegoría de esa instancia. En dicha alegoría, sucede por supuesto lo opuesto a lo negativo y oscuro de la pieza escrita por Shakespeare. En este caso, las brujas brindaron luz; abrieron mis ojos. Entonces reaccioné como el Macbeth: “¡Dime más!” Hubiese sido redundante el decirles “muéstrame como escribir”, yo sólo abrí mi mente a sus notas y consejos. Aún sin palabras, fluyendo en el proceso, ellas “escarbaron” mi suelo virgen, me enseñaron a utilizar mis bases para trabajar en ello. Olga, a través de las Humanidades y Montse con la Literatura Española. Estaban completamente seguras de lo que yo podía lograr, despertaron más aún mi imaginación, me guiaron por la escritura creativa, como por arte de magia, sin mayores afanes; como en Macbeth, con el gesto de sus dedos.
